Title: Edge Computing for Internet of Things Applications.

Authors: Dr. Winston Leonard

Abstract: The Internet of Things (IoT) has witnessed exponential growth, leading to a surge in interconnected devices generating massive amounts of data. Traditional cloud-based computing architectures often face challenges in handling the real-time processing, low latency requirements, and privacy concerns associated with IoT data. Edge computing emerges as a promising solution by shifting computational resources closer to the data source. This paper explores the concept of edge computing and its applications in the IoT domain. It discusses the benefits of edge computing, including reduced latency, enhanced privacy, and improved scalability. Furthermore, the paper delves into various edge computing architectures and their suitability for different IoT use cases. Finally, it addresses the challenges and future research directions in edge computing for IoT.
