Abstract: The integration of smartphones and IoT has the potential to revolutionize public transportation. By collecting and using data in real time, it can be used to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and overall experience of using public transportation. For example, smartphones and IoT can be used to track the location of public transportation vehicles in real time. This information can be used to provide passengers with accurate ETAs, so they can plan their journeys more effectively. It can also be used to identify and address potential problems, such as delays or breakdowns. In addition, smartphones and IoT can be used to dynamically adjust public transportation routes based on demand. This can help to improve efficiency and reduce congestion. Smartphones can also be used to collect fares automatically, without the need for cash or tickets. This can speed up the boarding process and improve security. Finally, smartphones and IoT can be used to promote public transportation and encourage more people to use it. For example, they can be used to provide information about schedules, routes, and fares. They can also be used to offer discounts and incentives. Overall, the integration of smartphones and IoT has the potential to make public transportation a more attractive and convenient option for people of all ages. It can help to reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, and make our cities more livable.
